Re: Rate my Gaming PC

Hello,
do you want me to rate your PC? ok, here it is:

5/10

why?
well maybe your PC is very good for games, but your PSU is low quality to handle your PC

so I recommend you get a high quality PSU like the Corsair 850 W
then your PC ranking will be very good

Re: Rate my Gaming PC

The BeQuiet Darkpro 850 is no worse than the corsair tbh, both rated the same and it's no where close to being 'low quality'

I don't like Seagate. At all.

Re: Rate my Gaming PC

It's not low quality but that power supply isn't great. I respect a lower spec pc with higher quality parts then a high spec pc with cheaper parts. As for rating no comment... Run 3d mark and theres your rating.

Re: Rate my Gaming PC

You really don't want to cheap out on the PSU for your computer. For more information you might want to take a look at this thread. For a rating, you can use 3d mark, or you can test what FPS you get at different levels with games such as Crysis or Supreme Commander.

You should be able to get 30+ FPS on Crysis at high detail.

Re: Rate my Gaming PC

You are wrong with the corsair 850w being in the same range as your bequiet PSU. The Be quiet has a max wattage of 850w from all of its rails together and only giving 648 watts on the combined multi railed 12v rails at 4 x 20amps with an inefficiency already compensated for of 58amps.

The corsair has one 70 amp 12v rail and a combined wattage of with 5v and 3.3v rails of an actual 850w PSU. There an multiple rails so you don't need to worry about rail balancing and just plug whatever you want without worrying about which rail it came from.

I would give your PC a 7.5/10. If you had a Better PSU that actually gave out the correct wattage it would probably last longer and maybe perform a bit better. I would then give it a 8.5 or 8 out of 10. The current PSU is slightly worse than a Corsair 750w. I don't think you'll have a problem powering the PC with PSU but real quality makes a difference.

Re: Rate my Gaming PC

The worst part is it isn't 80+ certified. Just one of those "up to so ans so" efficiency power supplies.

Re: Rate my Gaming PC

Four 20A +12V rails with a max of 58A? Versus a single 70A +12V rail? Completely different spheres of performance. There's more to a power supply than wattage. 90% of your computer's power is drawn from the +12V rail. Your BeQuiet can only (theoretically) deliver 696W of power at +12V. That's less than the Corsair 750W! The remaining ~200W of the BeQuiet's power rating is taken from the +5V and +3.3V rail,s, and I challenge you to find ANY modern computer that will draw 200W on those two rails. Factor in the fact that you take power losses up to 20% from current being trapped on underutilized rails (which you'll have a lot of with four of 'em!) and this BeQuiet 850W is actually a 650W unit. And with a low efficiency (less than 80%), spotty protections, and questionable manufacturing quality, and you've got yourself a loser of a power supply.

The Corsair TX850W can deliver 840W of its 850W from the +12V rail (70A x 12V = 840W). In testing it can actually deliver up to 1000W, if you push it to its peak and load up the +5V and +3.3V rails as well! And with an 83% minimum efficiency (up to 87%), the full spectrum of protections, high-quality internal components, and the single rail design, and you've got yourself an actual high-quality 850W PSU.

And the TX850W isn't even Corsair's top shelf unit! The HX850W can deliver similar amounts of power, but has 92-95% efficiency and modular cabling!

If I were basing your system solely on performance, I might give it an 8.5/10. But with the shitty PSU you have, I'd agree with RockmasteR's original assessment of 5/10.
