The ratings they give out are far more realistic than those given by the rating council in Australia. L4D2 is an example of that.

Office of Film and Literature Classification
Use the 'Find' search bar at the top left to find anything you want.

The problem is that our classification board is a government run entity (heavily influenced by the Attorney Generals, in fact, the OFLC doesn't even actually exist anymore), whereas the ESRB is a self regulatory trade organisation, it has no ties to your government.

If we had an R18+ rating, this would not be an issue.

I think the main problem is that Michael Atkinson is imposing his Christian values on a multi-belief country, in a multi-belief context. You can't base computer game classifications on Christian values alone - you have to cater to everyone. Michael Atkinson either should be more open-minded, or should not be in the position he is in.

Look on the bright-side.... At least you have Left4Dead 2, except it isn't the same.... Anyway, that sucks that Australians get the censored version. Gears of War is way bloodier than Left4Dead 2 and yet is uncensored in Australia. Something strange is going on here.

So they're worried that some zombie in L4D2 could look like Jesus.

Actually it's pretty clear to me. They think all Australian children are complete idiots and will think anything is normal so when they see a zombie that has all it's limbs they think said children will believe everyone else is a zombie and probably go out on a killing spree.

I'm just going to add to the mounting evidence for the argument that the people on the OFLC are a bunch of howler monkeys who traded their brains in for some pencil shavings by talking about Prototype.

I recently played it and I saw straight away it was rated MA15+. Yet the violence in it exceeds or at very least equals the violence in L4D2, yet L4D2 gets banned...?

So has anybody else heard about the issue of Modern Warfare 2 possibly being refused classification?
It currently has an MA15+ rating, but due to leaked footage of terrorist actions there are a few groups up in arms saying that it should be refused classification.

What I would like, is for the classification board to justify how they can rate mowing down hordes of innocent civilians as MA15+ content, yet rate mowing down hordes of violent zombies as RC because the zombies 'look too much like humans'.
