Saint's Row 2 Spec Question.

Hey guy's, just seen Saint's Row 2 on Direct2Drive for a mega £5 - as part of their 5 year anniversary. So I'm inclined to grab the deal while it last's.

Only 1 question their spec's are out of this world

"Saints Row 2 Download Recommended System Requirements
Operating System: Windows® XP or Vista.
CPU: 3.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or equivalent or AMD Athlon X2 or equivalent.
Memory: 2 GB system RAM
Sound: DirectX® 9.0c compatible 16-bit sound card
Video Card: 256MB 3D graphics card with Shader Model 3.0 support (i.e. 8800 NVidia card or better, ATI HD3850 card or better)
Display: DirectX® compatible display capable of 1024x768 in 32-bit color
Hard Drive Space: 15 GB of Hard Drive Space
Peripherals: Keyboard, Mouse, optional Xbox 360 Game Controller
DirectX 9.0c*"

My question is this; will my computer run this and if so what quality?

thanks (spec's can been seen in my profile tab)

Re: Saint's Row 2 Spec Question.

You should be able to run the game fine, and for that price, theres really nothing to lose if you cant!
Anyway, all i would say is to consider maybe getting a new power supply, but it depends what brand the power supply is that you have now...

Re: Saint's Row 2 Spec Question.

Well... I put it on it recommended everything full. Like I always do I lower it a bit (turn of AA ext) so about medium quality, turn the game on with a res of 1680x1050 = unplayable.

Turned all the graphics to low with a res of 1440 and still pretty much unplayable :s.

Is it me or is this game poorly made ?

Re: Saint's Row 2 Spec Question.

Whats the average framerate you were getting on low settings? This is quite unusual as i thought you would be able to play it smoothly...

Re: Saint's Row 2 Spec Question.

Well on low the max I get is about 25, and the lowest being 5.

It can be at 20 one second I get into a card and bang 5...

It's weird I've looked around and according to lot's of angry people apparently it's just a terrible port, and everyone has this trouble unless you're computer is built by NASA.... It's no biggie £5 is 'nout really least I have it for the future incase I get a job at NASA lol.

Re: Saint's Row 2 Spec Question.

Hehe, well i guess the game is very graphically intense, but as i said i would maybe consider getting a new Power Supply in the near future.

Re: Saint's Row 2 Spec Question.

Yeah honestly anything above 1024x 720 is useless.
