Exchanged G71 for HP dv7...

Arggg... just had an impulse buy moment. After 3 weeks my HD crashed on my g71gx. BB didn't have the G71 instock to exchange so I got at the HP Pavilion Dv7-2180us...

Someone tell me I made a mistake! lol

Seriously, though... gaming wise are these 2 comparable?

Quad core vs Dual core
Ati vs nVidia
HP vs Asus

I don't feel so good. lol

A friend of mine has a G71 and loves it.

HP is a brand I wouldn't buy.

Re: Exchanged G71 for HP dv7...

The ASUS G71 ius way better. It has 2.53ghz dual core, GTX 260M graphics card.

G71 specs
Dv7-2180us specs

The HP also has a centrino CPU which is a lot worse than a regular dual core.

Get your ASUS back! HDD's either fail really early or take years and years to fail.

Centrino is a package of CPU, MB, Wireless, the current 2009 Centrino Spec is for the i7 and i5 moble CPU's, I think your thinking of Celeron?

A Celeron is a Pentium II made with celery.

Re: Exchanged G71 for HP dv7...

I used to use a Celeron until about three years ago. On a desktop. It was pretty bad :/
