[SOLVED] NFS Carbon vs Prostreet

Hey guys, i'm just curious which of the two do you think is the best.

I've been through different forums and just would like to get your thoughts here in TSF. You can also include your comments from other NFS titles.

We have several NFS titles at home installed in our pc and i want to remove them and just keep one NFS title. I still like Carbon and I've seen prostreet but haven't played it yet and my friend says it's better than carbon.

Re: NFS Carbon vs Prostreet

hello
NFS Prostreet is totally different from Carbon
Carbon is illegal street racing, at Night with cops and you can race with team mates and the game has its own story and the game has a free roaming mode
Prostreet is legal racing with closed tracks and the game has a limited story about being the Street King, the game happens only at day time, no cops and with a very annoying commentary and speech, the racing is good tho
if you like cops and chases and if you liked Most Wanted you could like Carbon (the only common thing in MW and Carbon are the cops but they are more stupid) of course the customization stays in all NFS including in Prostreet
Prosreet was a bold move from the NFS team to refresh the series a bit but I think they fail a bit in it
so IMHO Carbon is better than ProStreet
but of course it's up to you
if you like closed tracks and legal races go for GRID but no customization but the game is amazing
or maybe you can wait for the new NFS Shift coming in Fall 2009 it'll be big

Re: NFS Carbon vs Prostreet

Hey, thanks for the reply rockmaster, that was really helpful. I've heard GRID before but am not sure with the requirements of that game. Will it run in P4 2.8ghz, 1GB Ram, 9400GT 512mb ddr2 video card?

I think am gonna stay with carbon and i'd like to try GRID instead of prostreet. I've seen prostreet and the graphics is so cool and i'm thinking that it might not run on my pc. I have an old school pc.. lol

Re: NFS Carbon vs Prostreet

Well I don't think Grid will run well on your PC, Mainly because of your CPU. It requires a dual Core of at least 1.8ghz x 2 to run smooth I think.

The ram might be problem too. You should have 2gbs of ram for XP to make sure games are always running smooth.

Your going to have to keep the graphic settings low because of your weak graphics card.

Re: NFS Carbon vs Prostreet

Thanks Mcninja, thanks for that very detailed explanation. :)

So guys, what pc racing games can you recommend to me that will run on my specs? Like GRID aside from NFS. Games that you have played already and can you compare it to GRID and NFS so i'll have a picture of it or links maybe.. Thanks!

Re: NFS Carbon vs Prostreet

Well the last Need for speed game I really like that had nice handling was Need for SPeed Porsche. I am waiting for NFS Shift. I think going the pro street way for this long wasn't a good idea.

I think you'll really need a dual core for Grid.

TCP/IP mode (2-12 players) Requirements:

GRID™ can be configured to use almost any PC controller, however we recommend the following controllers for the best game play experience:

Microsoft X360 controller
Logitech G25

Thrustmaster RGT Force Feedback Pro
What you want to aim for is the recommended specs as publishers always pick too low of a minimum spec. They just want to sell the game and don't care too much if a computer can run it.

the game will run on GF 9400 GT as I have the same card but with 1 Gb of Memory but 512 will do OK
