StarCraft Battle Report 3

Apparently there are speculations that the closed beta will be released in a few weeks and then a demo shortly after (August sometime).
This is all speculation but its what gamers live on.

Blizzard still haven't got an official release date but say its possible for the game to be released by December 09.
I'll try and find the source on this. I scanned though it a few nights ago.

Edit: Is the non playable race creatures that randomly attack or is it a "civilized" race that builds,etc.

I think one of the Q&A's mentioned that the Xzelnaga will have a 4th hybrid race in the single player.

I heard that blizzard stop making the Diablo 2 1.13 patch :(, and they say it was paused because of issues with Warcraft 3. They found a exploit that allows maps being download to spread viruses,etc. I hope they won't put a "pause" on SC2. I am really excited of SC2, hope it's all balanced. And of course no unit lag :).

Actually, the fourth race may be the hybrid (Zerg/Protoss) introduced by Samir Duran in a secret level in Brood War (Dark Origin) If you haven't played the secret level, there is a tutorial to get to it. I'm too lazy to give the link.

Isn't that the level where if you complete the Zerg Mission 8 in under 5 minutes or something you will get the secret mission? I did play the secret mission but I don't remember what was in it. You can easily get to it by using cheats.

There is no cow level/Ophilia, It pretty sure it's one of those. I have never beaten the starcraft singleplayer Hehehehe. Is this hybrid race in broodwar just hunter killers or they actually new looking units?

It is indeed the secret mission given for Zerg 8. And Zealex, I don't think Ophilia will get you to the secret mission directly, I believe what he meant was using cheats to beat the prereq mission quickly.

From what I remember, you played with Zeratul, getting him inside a Terran installation and basically listening to a lot of enigmatic statements by Duran. You never got to see the hybrids actually... you just kinda hear Zeratul see them and gasp.

As for the beta speculation, Mike Morhaime (VP of Blizzard? I think) said in an interview that the beta will be out sometime this summer... I'll try to find a link. Now the speculation is on exactly how soon it will come.

I've beaten Zerg 8 mission without cheats and gotten the secret mission.

Ontopic: I want to see a battle report with terran! more terran! and how about a zerg vs protoss vs terran battle?

Im so excited for this game.

The original SC is all about mass armies, not too many strategies =(

I think the original starcraft has TONS of strategies. You could micro, rush, tech and also have to preserve the natural resource on the map so you have to spend wisely. You would need to take other bases, some units were superior to other units so you have to think that out. For example, zerglings and firebats. To get rid of the firebats any air unit or just mass hydralisks should do.

i guess thats true in a way, i just see SO many new strats in SC2 and it just makes me biased against SC1 strats hah.

Lol, I love starcraft. I remember seeing some games on youtube, it was a Russian player vs. a Korean player. The Russian guy won. Next round another Korean player, and then he won(overall too I believe). They way they move their units is mind boggling, lol. I wish I could play that well. Downside is that I quit starcraft....just to many hackers thinking their tough stuff. Only time I ever log on starcraft is when I'm playing UMS(use map setting) maps or melee maps with friends I know/trust. I just hope everything is balanced in SC2, some of those units and beta videos seem rigged in some ways. Well it was a beta video.

Oh i agree, i know blizzards security will increase a lot in D3 and SC2, just like in WoW.

I can't wait until the day of release for both games, and blizzards new MMO.

It makes my nerdy side tingle like crazy just thinking about it hah!

Yeah, Blizzard doesn't seem to do much about the hackers. Hopefully they will have a better anti hack program for SC2 as well D3. We are kind of swinging off topic so lets try to stay on it :P. In the video(battle report 3) the graphics look sick, a huge advance from the first in the series.

Big time, it almost looks like you are playing an advanced warcraft 3 game. The graphic engine is excellent.

Lol, :P. I just hope hackers don't ruin the game, starcraft is already hacked and Blizzard doesn't seem to be in a rush to fix it. Lets hope SC2 will be "worth saving" in their eyes. I hope I get into the beta though, I would be so happy if I got selected.

im sure they do, they probably have on guy working on SC anti-hacking updates haha, i can just picture a Starcraft 1 section in the blizzard building, and its all empty desks but one person in there haha.
