Tutorial on ripping PC games?

Can someone give me a tutorial on ripping PC games or just explain it to me in a post? See i have alot of games on disc but im trying to get rid of some junk in my room, and i want to still be able to install the games from their ripped images, is that possible? or can someone give me a better way to do this? and would i be able to run the game from a flash drive if i wanted? I heard it's called "direct play". Thank you in advanced.

Not sure if that information is allowed here.

Re: Tutorial on ripping PC games?

Its not allowed, ripping the CD/DVD to play on the HDD via emulation software is circumventing the games security protection like SecuRom.
The game will prompt you for the correct CD in the drive anyway.

If you wish to keep your room free of CD/DVDs keep stored somewhere. Or get steam and start buying your games from the online store and download the games digitally to your HDD.

Re: Tutorial on ripping PC games?

There are certain older games that allow you to do this after patches (i.e. StarCraft), but other than those ripping would obviously be illegal.
