Operation Flashpoint 2 and Arma 2

Anyone else waiting for the release of these two military simulators? I loved Operation: Flashpoint and can't wait to get my hands on OF2. It's the realism and detail that I am looking forward to so much.

Well, they both are military simulators, and were both made by the same developer. Bohemia Interactive developed OFP, and Codemasters published it, and owns the rights to it. ARMA was also developed by BIS but was published by 505 and Atari. OF2 is now being developed by Codemasters, while ARMA 2 is still made by BIS.

Re: Operation Flashpoint 2 and Arma 2

ARMA is kind of the spiritual successor to OFP. It's a similar situation to what happened with Far Cry. Ubisoft holds the rights to Far Cry so they developed Far Cry 2. However Crytek (the original developers of Far Cry) made Crysis. Different franchise but a lot similar to the original Far Cry than Far Cry 2 is.

I loved OFP. Still play it to this day.
Have to say I'm looking forward to OFP 2 more than ARMA 2. ARMA 1 was too buggy for me and from what I have seen/read OFP 2 looks pretty good.

I, too, am looking forward more to OFP 2. I just hope that you don't have to be squad leader for the entire game. I like following orders too lol.

Same, I like how in OFP you felt like a regular grunt. You stuck with your team, followed orders and did your best to keep yourself and your squad mates alive.
