Computer question

Im about to go off to college and Im going to buy a desktop computer. I play alot of games and want to be able to keep up with future games. is alienware the best computer to buy and is there a good gaming computer that doesnt cost 5000 dollars. im looking to spend no more that 1500 but would like it to be lower than that. all I need it for is gaming.

Re: Computer question

Alienware, overpriced. You would probably be better off building your
own. Ive known people who have dealt with abs computers, were very
happy..

Re: Computer question

Go to the build section of this forum. Look for lindermans sticky thread
on machines, and his different class of machines, he even lists current
prices. Very informative.....Just poke through the sticky threads at the
top of the page and you will find it,,,

Re: Computer question

for around $1700 you can make a very nice computer with monitor and all accesories that will keep with up to date games for the next 3 years

thats a custom computer and buying a computer that's pre built will always cost another 5% or 10% maybe more than that compared to a custom comp

Re: Computer question

building is always fun...:) Cant wait to build my first in half a year Lol....ALienware just looks cool and you get bragging rights for people who don't know better(no offence). But seriously you can make a computer way cheaper and better than alienware? is alienware REALLY that overpriced?

Re: Computer question

My computer is future proof for at least 5 or 6 years but it cost almost $3000 excluding accessories. I built it myself though.

Actually Alienware is the best company for performance computers in the world.

Re: Computer question

Alienware can be beat out and a couple of their components aren't the best (PSU comes to mind)

Alienware is good for performance computers but if you know your way around PC parts than building custom will beat out Alienware
