NCSoft to launch new MMO in fall 2009

This is just a little announcement for any who don't know and to see what people think about it. NCSoft is supposedly gearing up for a fall 2009 launch of it's newest MMO Aion Tower of Eternity. They have developed several MMO's over the years including: City of Heroes/Villains, Lineage (II and III), Guild Wars, and their latest (though a failure) Tabula Rasa.

Their newest work has several trailers out (all beautiful) depicting 4 zones and a demonstration of the various classes.

It will have 4 classes which can later specialize into one of two branches.

Classes

Warrior Priest Mage Scout

Branches

Warrior- Templar & Gladiator

Mage- Sorcerer & Spiritmaster

Scout- Ranger & Assassin

Priest- Cleric & Chanter

The only thing really available at the moment are the trailers which are all quite stunning.

pretty impressive graphics and landscapes for a MMORPG
the thing that really caught my eye was the Battle trailer because the graphics could be kinda crappy for me but if the gameplay was awesome then I might consider getting it.

I don't know what I'm looking for in a MMO but I haven't found it yet

A friend of mine who I used to play WoW with found out about it and mentioned it to me.

I'm currently interested in Warhammer Online but Aion has me so excited that I've all but forgotten about Warhammer.

The reason for the fantastic graphics is that fact that it uses a modified version of the Crytek engine.

I am done playing Warhammer Online and am moving to AION for sure. I am already playing it on the China servers just to get the feel for it ahead of time. Love it so far.

Hmm, Sounds oddly familiar.. When I was about 13 ish (3 years ago) I played a game called "Maplestory" and it was the exact same thing only with 2d graphics but the class system was exactly the same.. It seems like its gonna be a rip but im gonna keep my eye on it.

LOL it's funny you mention that as my wife plays MapleStory sometimes now, we both used to play WoW but it lost all it's appeal and all my friends quit playing. What I like about Aion is that it seems to carry elements from so many different MMOs. I can see a little WoW, a little FFXI, and some Warhammer in it.

Is it going to be a Pay To Play game? or the better option, Free To Play? because seeing as how Tabula Rasa bombed and NCSoft got their bank account stabbed in the face.

It's $50 to buy with a $15 Monthly subscription, I plan on buying the $70 limited edition one.

Hmm, will it have a trial, like WoW does?

That I don't know, probably not at first. I think they will though considering that most if not all of their MMOs have trial periods, the only question is when they will implement it.
