*Bleep*ing Compatiblity issues with DOW2

When I downloaded the Dawn of War 2 Beta, (on my old computer) everything passed minimum specs except the graphics card! and it was by ONE card series! and it would not let me play! grrr.

Why can't all games let you play while under min specs, like Unreal Tournament 3 for example, I was able to play with a nvidia 5200!

Re: *Bleep*ing Compatiblity issues with DOW2

Newer cards not only have faster clock speeds and more memory than older ones, they also contain advanced features.

Some of these features (shader models, etc) are required by games, so if the older card doesn't support these features, the game won't run at all.

This doesn't affect all games though. As you say, UT3 can be run on low spec cards.

Yeah but except for processing cores and fill rates, my OC'd 6200 is better then the required 6600, same shader model and everything.
