ridiculous new game thoughts and rants
I was wondering if anybody had some hypothetical question about certain animes, movies, cartoons or movies being made into games?
or the opposite way around, This always feels half hearted so much of the time when a game is made into a movie. I think I 'll make this into a game or just a discussion maybe not sure though I'm gonna suggest a book that I'd like made into a game I kinda like and anybody can shoot me down with cons of it, or discuss valid points of pros for it, either way, don't get angry Horror game Stephen King's Needful Things Semi Spoiler for the book Basically a weird guy comes to a this town and starts selling things that people really want but there's a catch you've got to do whatever the weird guy says to get that object. SO I would think something like you're the sheriff and you have to try and stabilize the town before absolute chaos erupts.... (my game idea thoughts) and I think it might make a good game, since the book scared the living crap out of me and not too many people or none at all have tried to make a game out of Stephen King Novels |

Yep Boll is crazy. Gotta love this though:

Alternatively, I would like to see a book (or series of books) based on the Half-Life games. Preferably covering the events during the Seven Hour War and the aftermath. |

Re: ridiculous new game thoughts and rants
I 2nd Mcninja about Mel Gibson, he is a GOD among actors
one of the best... now how about 3 games to movies adaptation : Half - Life (would make a great story) Dead Space Fallout 3 (very good story) and I have a question too. are Clive Barker's books or novel good? cause the games are not!! Like Jericho... the gameplay is not as good as the other games...

Re: ridiculous new game thoughts and rants
I think Clive Barker's novels are good, I have yet to read them though....
those 3 movies would make good films. The actual main story for Fallout 3 isn't too long so it would be much of a stretch and add some Mad Max fell to it and poof instant awesomeness! Liam Neison should play the father in the movie too! He plays the voice so he should play the actor too. there should be extra if it was ever made and alternate side quest/ adventures like when you go to Oasis there should be a scene where sets the tre on fire and has an evil grin to the actor or actress I t really depends on the actors and writers and director just like in game to make it all work. |

Re: ridiculous new game thoughts and rants
I have read a few of Clive Barker's books and if you like horror....good reads. Found a copy of his "Undying" PC game and so far, I like it.
Stephen King's books/stories to movies. Some transcriptions worked, some did not. I haven't read the Dark Tower series yet to make any comment on if it could be made into a movie. Games into movies? I think part of the problem is finding a decent screenwriter who can transcribe "character and story" into "movie". Then find a decent director. Cinematography and FX are not a problem any more. Problem is relating to an audience who does not "know" the game or has a hazy understanding of it. Then making a movie that most of the gamers would appreciate without "nitpicking" it to death because some "artistic license" was used. But then, Hollywood has made so many duds, it would be hard to get "it all right". Streetfighter, Mario Bros., DOOM, Alone in the Dark comes to mind. Resident Evil has Milla Jovavich going for that franchise and becoming more "action" than "horror". That aspect has gotten lost (none are "scary" like the game is) This goes for the recent "Max Payne" too. My son saw this and thought it was a "try" but it lost something in translation (he has played both games) Finally got to see Mel Gibson's "Apocolyptco" over the weekend. I have seen his "We were Soldiers" and "Passion" a while ago. He does have strong opinions/beliefs and is willing to take chances...whether you agree with him or not. Nor does he care what Hollywood thinks. He wanted "Wallace" to be more authentic...at least how the actual battles were fought (i.e. Battle of Sterling Bridge....movie version was wrong) but ran into location problems. Right now, I am looking forward to seeing how Del Toro's vision of "The Hobbit" will play out. His visions of "Pan's Labryth" and the two "Hellboys" were "feasts". |

As for Clive Barker, I have to say i am a HUGE FAN!!! ![]() He has some amazing books, and you have to appreciate the whole style of the books. He kinda follows the whole Fantasy genre route - his books are multiple volumes. He has some single volume books which are brilliant too. But his shorts stories are the ones i loved best. If you have the time take out all 6 "Books of Blood" Its 6 books of his short stories. But even though they are separate once you start, it is difficult to stop. They also kinda relate to each other in weird ways. Moving on are his movies... Best known are the original Hellraisers & Candyman... Has some other recognisable movies as well The games, well i liked them too, maybe they didnt translate, but if you have read his books, it makes a bit more sense. First came Nightbreed 1 & 2 in 1990. Undying came much later... And now Jericho He also has some art and stuff He been pretty much across all forms of media, has my fave author.
