Which Heaphones???

Well here it is as per the previous request. I have forwarded the previous reply to start it up. I have never played co-op play so I'm not sure which headphones will do the trick...best bang for the buck so-to-speak. I checked a top five list and the Sennheisers came out on top with Logitech and Plantron as well.

Yeah that's what I want for now. Something I can play co-op play with and will be effective for receiving really good audio feedback when playing so I can actually hear people instead of having to say "What.....what...all the time. I think I'll check out Future shop this week...then usually have pretty good stuff there and sales all the time. Thanks. I know that there's the premium music store in Toronto for the entire country pretty much called Bay Bloor Radio. They actually have headphones for...get this....$1000.00 if you can believe it. They have Grado's from NY and all the fmaous brands.

Here we go down below.

I think I may got for the 5.1 surround set of perhaps the $99 Sennheisers

Re: Which Heaphones???

Avoid the Barracuda like the plague, I had the AC-1 soundcard and the HP-1 headphones for about 3 weeks before I binned them.

The sound wasn't too bad as long as the drivers were working, which wasn't very often. The microphone was awful, nobody could hear me on vent.

Both the headphones and soundcard had non standard connections called HD-DAI, you'll need to use an adapter if you don't have both.

Build quality was also below par, vibrations caused the screws to come loose and drop off into the inside of the headphones causing them to rattle with the slightest amount of bass.

Ended up buying X-Fi Elite Pro soundcard and X-fi Fatal1ty headset, reliable and good sound quality.

Re: Which Heaphones???

Very Nice Headphones. I'll have to see if I can get them down here. I really like the look and the Mic detaches which is handy.

Thanks

Looks Like these are the ones I will end up getting. They are available on this site. The store is right around the corner from me so I can get them next week and then it's on like donkey kong....LOL...

Re: Which Heaphones???

I was checking out the review on O.C.C. and I wanted to ask if anyone has had experience with the Creative Fata1ity headset on a non Fata1ity sound card. I have the Extreme Gamer Version and was wondering if I'm going to experience poor sound quality.

Re: Which Heaphones???

I doubt you'll get poor quality on any sound card. I have a cheap $25 sound card it and my games sound nice to me.

as long as your not using on board sound than you should be fine and The sound card you have I guess is around $90?

I don't see how incompatibilities would come up between headphones/mic and a sound card

I don't use a Fatal1ty card, I have the Elite Pro: http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=209&subcategory=669&product=14064&listby=

Sound quality is great using that combo.

Re: Which Heaphones???

Excellent. Thanks Fellas. I wasn't sure if the combo of Fatality Card & Headset was going to yield the best results so I was a little skeptical about pairing up a different card with this set. Now I know and I can soon be online playing co-op in no time. Is there any fee for Steam?

Re: Which Heaphones???

Very Nice. Good to know. I know that Steam has games for purchase and download but I wasn't sure if I was going to be prevented from playing online due to monthly fees. I think I'll get the Creative Headset this week. I was unable to find the Pro set at my local Comp Store even TD didn't seem to even carry them at all. I"ll have to check it out. Maybe FutureShop would have them.

Re: Which Heaphones???

I saw these nice ones from futureshop when I was checking the site. Sadly no Creative ones were found but this Saitek set seemed pretty good. Anyone had this pair or a pair from this company?

Just read some reviews about these, they don't appear to be very good.

Re: Which Heaphones???

Wow....after seeing what the material looks like and the fact that the other review cited lack of Vista Support I would have to say that the Creative Headset seems to win the battle here for the big prize of coming home with me. I was looking at the fabric and the fact that they seemed to be very flimsy and just seemed kinda cheap. The padding on the Fatality set seems very adequate. Thanks.

Re: Which Heaphones???

Hey any word on the Creative Tourament Gaming Headset (HS 1100 Series)? They are one step up from the Fatality Set. Only problem is I can't seem to find them anywhere. Perhaps Newegg....??
