Re: laptop question

I am not so sure about getting it at that price but these are a few qualities you should look in good laptops, generally laptops are not so good for playing intensive games but moderate games are okay

1) Dual core processors
2) 2 GB RAM
3) Preferably an independent video RAM, not a shared one

What you're looking for cost more than $1,500.

When i do decide to purchase a laptop where would you suggest i purchase one? like what about ebay if i can find a good deal? or should i just go to a best buy or circuit city and look there? i just dont know much about laptops and dont even know what brands to stay away from.

Re: laptop question

I don't think any modern laptop at any price can provide "great gaming". The gaming experience extends much further than the machine's ability to render an image on a screen. Gaming with a laptop keyboard is simply inferior, and laptop LCD quality leaves so much to be desired...

Not only that, I bought a machine for college with the intention of being able to use it for gaming. Well, it sort of worked. I spent a thousand bucks on it two years ago. It has an ATi x1600 video module, which is already outdated. It has depreciated about 65% since I bought it. Totally not worth it.

On the other hand, the desktop build I just completed is really awesome, cost me a fraction of what the laptop cost, and will be upgradeable probably for the next 8 years. Definitely a better way to go. I like my laptops cheap and sturdy. 'Gaming laptop' is an oxymoron.
