Re: Please suggest some games
If the CPU is your slowest component, you could overclock it in BIOS, but make sure you have a suitable PSU and cooling otherwise you could do permanent damage. Apart from that, a CPU upgrade is the best option.
It will run Crysis. What other kind of games are you looking for?

Re: Please suggest some games
Thanks.
Actually this is a compaq PC which I upgraded. So it has only one case fan, and a 400W PSU (It's still better than the 250W one which it originally had, lol). systemreqlabs tells me I need to have atleast 3.2 GHz P4 to run crysis on Vista. Do you think I can still overclock it, just from 3.0 to 3.2? and any good game will do (action, etc.), except racing and gta-like games, which I'm sick of. Thanks for any help.

Commander Keen.
Even with an 8600 that PSU will limit how much umph your PC will give to games.

Re: Please suggest some games
Enter your full system specs into this power calculator and set Capacitor Aging to 25%. Click the Calculate button, then add 30% to the total to allow for PSU inefficiency.

Re: Please suggest some games
I don't think there's actually that many DX10 games out there right now?
But it shouldn't be gfx your looking for, it should be gameplay! =] Now... you should know that Battlefield 2 is/was a life stealer of a game! I'm retired now though, as well as most of my friends! It just takes up too much time away from your life and everything else! |

Re: Please suggest some games
use emulators of old systems like Znes(snes), dosBox or mame 32(samurai showdown is my favorite).
they might not have dx10 but they got plenty of fun games to keep you busy and they most cartainly run at your pc. btw dx10 is no big deal, its just power consuming.

Re: Please suggest some games
World in conflict is a DX10 game I think.
It won't run on your system though. In fact, you'll be hard pressed to find a DX10 game that works well with your system. Best you'll do is DX9 I reckon. Last edited by Twysta`; 07-10-2008 at 02:15 PM. |
