5.1 surround setup

I was thinking of getting a 5.1 surround sound setup for my pc and wondered what everyone else was using and if they liked it.

I am going to get both a sound card and the speakers too so if you would talk about both that would be great.

Hi,

I currently use a 5.1 surround sound setup with my computer. I used to use a 7.1 setup until I moved house, and didn't have room for it any more. I love the surround sound, especially for FPS games. It really helps with locating enemies, etc. Surround sound is pretty much wasted on RTS games though.

I use a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS, with Logitech 5.1 speakers.

hey indoril,

You seem to be running the same setup that I was looking at. what logitech speakers do you have exactly and would you say that you are happy with them?

Pretty much any of the Logitech Z-series 5.1 surround setups are golden.

I'm using the Logitech X530 5.1 speakers. They're nice quality, but I don't think they're quite as good as the Creative 7.1 system I had before. Overall, though, I'm pretty happy with them.
