Well I do know, as one of many random examples, GPotato offers Rappelz for free (and it is in pretty good 3D as well).

There is also Sword of the New World, (Sword of the New World) I believe the creator of that game is also the guy that created Ragnorak Online, and the company that made it made the game Knight Online (Both of which are MMORPGS).

Re: Looking for a free MMORPG
You should check out a game called Shaiya. I never actually tried it but its from aeria games and was featured in PC gamer as one of the best free MMO's available. Its based off the lineage 2 engine i think. If you try it out, let us know what you think. Who knows, maybe i'll join ya :P

Re: Looking for a free MMORPG
Tibia is an Awesome Free Game. Although to access premium areas and other special things it may cost you a bit of money. Other then that if your looking for free, addicitive and 2d. That's the best game I can suggest.

Re: Looking for a free MMORPG
The thing is most 3d mmorpg's right now play almost exactly the same as WoW. Its not that they copy them, but its a very generic system. different games have slightly different features, but for the most part its basically the same. They almost all use a click to move (which i hate) or the WASD moving system. most of todays mmo's have fairly limited character developing and they all have that same quest structure (go here, kill that 20 times, ect)
I played LOTRO in beta and a little after release and it honestly felt alot like WoW but with some different features, more realistic graphics but a slower pace. Im not much of a gamer, but from what my brother tells me it sounds like age of conan might be different. One can only hope i guess. |

America's Army? I used to play that a while back.
It's a free FPS and arguably a MMO. http://www.americasarmy.com/
