I have noticed that Dell has announced a 30" monitor, and some people just thinking about use it for gaming:

Well personally I do think $1199 is too expensive for me, with that budget I can get a tv.

Re: 30" Monitor?!

Dell SB has the Dell UltraSharp 3007WFP-HC 30 inch Wide-Screen Black Flat Panel Monitor for $1199 with free shipping.

# It will stun you with its 2560x1600 resolution, 11ms response time, and 400 cd/m2 brightness.

# Requires a DVI-D dual-link graphic card that supports WQXGA resolution.

Yeah .... I think I'm with you. I can think of better ways of spending my grand.

Re: 30" Monitor?!

And I don't think the specifications of that monitor are very good.

Re: 30" Monitor?!

I have a 26" HDTV with a max res of 1080i. I picked it off the net for $500. Its not a well know brand but the specs are just the same as others like Sony, Panasonic ect. And its was $550 cheaper than a Sony equivalent.

Re: 30" Monitor?!

Tell me about it. Cheapest one's I've seen are around the $1000 mark, usually around 50 - 60", not very well known brands, but I expect they do the same job.

Re: 30" Monitor?!

don't TV's run at a lower res than monitors? i mean, 2560x1600 has 640000 more pixels than 1920x1080 (1080p). I wonder why they can't make 40-50" screens with that resolution.
