Best games of 2007?

Let me introduce you Absolute TOP 2007 (Best games of 2007 as a result of poll on one of the popular Russian video-games Internet-portal).

There are several nominations and 3 winners in each. I would name just some of them.

1) Best game of the year: 1. The Witcher 2. Bioshock 3. Half-Life 2: the orange box
2) Best action game: 1. Bioshock 2. Half-Life 2: the orange box 3. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
3) Best RTS: 1. Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars 2. World in Conflict 3. Supreme Commander
4) Best racing game: 1. Test Drive Unlimited 2. Colin McRae: DiRT 3. Need for Speed ProStreet
5) Best sports game: 1. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 2. FIFA 08 3. FIFA Manager 08

As I am a little bit "remaining behind gamer" I want to try some of the best games: Bioshock, Test Derive Unlimited, PES 2008 and FIFA Manager 08.

Halo 3 had me by the throat for a good while after it came out.

.Hack//GU Episode 2 for PS2 is also a strong contender.

Uhh... there seems to be no simulation games in this... (but then again, there has been no really good sim games for awhile now, especially after EA took the NASCAR license from Papyrus in 2003 and started making crap.) but still, i heard RACE07- the Official WTCC Game was pretty good. DiRT has arcade physics, and so does NFS and Test Drive.

I thought they said they would 'fix' the physics for Pro Street so that you couldn't take any corner at any speed

(Be waiting for that patch) The game in itself wasn't bad though.

Yes, yes. Well, I can't really recommend any good games of 2007, but for all time, i would definitely say GTA:SA, Rally Trophy, Grand Prix Legends, and NASCAR Racing 2003 season

Best games for me last year were:

Assassin's Creed (Yes it was too easy, but I loved how easy it was to control)
MotorStorm (Only cause it was my first game on the PS3)
The Darkness (It's creepy)

All time:

Gran Turismo 4
GTA Series

Honourable Mentions:
NFS Pro Street/Most wanted
Age of Empires
Roller-coaster Tycoon

America's Army (not a great game, but it's free)

Gran Turismo is more of an arcade racer, that somewhat caters to simmers. But i've heard it's pretty damn good in that respect.

This weekend I've bought one of the "best games of 2007" according to the list above.
Test Drive Unlimited. Well, guys, I really enjoyed it! Excellent graphics, beautiful cars, interesting plot, amazing and the biggest landscape I ever seen in video games (Island Ohao). I had some problems with driving control. It takes some time to get used to it. Another thing is that I play it on Laptop. I think laptop is not very good for such games.
For those who haven't played it yet I really recommend you to get this game if you like racing genre! I have played NFS Pro Street. There is only one thing in which NFS doesn't yield to TDU - graphics. TDU is the best racing game of 2007, it is true.
