as for pc game, try the half life series from valve and counter strike for multiplayer.

EVE Online is a great Sci Fi MMO and you dont have to waste your life playing to have fun. Advance and play at your liesure.

Silent Hunter III or IV is the greatest naval sim game ever made, i was in the navy and the water with a mod installed is almost real to life, simply amazing graphics.

Europa Universalis III is a great historical strategy game, a must buy.

Lord of the Rings Online is better and more easy going than Everquest or World of Warcraft.
