Idea The "Stick-and-not-much-else" Fable quest log

Hello there Everyone, I am 16belowzero. I will be using this thread to track the progress of my Quest in Fable: TLC. I will be playing through the game in nothing more then the apprentice robes and will only be armed with the stick. No bow, no potions, no magic, And the only healing items i will be using are the random food items that I FIND. I will in no way be purchasing anything. I will also attempt to be a "Good" character. therefore I'll be doing alot of "Protect blank" quests, making my task even more hard. I will be updating a Log of my ingame progress here For all of you to follow, I might even produce a fanbase, I am open to help from anyone.

kind of like a journal on my game progress. I will only be playing about 2 hours or so a day.

Re: The "Stick-and-not-much-else" Fable quest log

This is where the log will go, it shall be edited daily with my progress and exp and such.

Day 1: (22 minutes of gameplay)

I got through the intro and such and the childhood phase without doing a single bad deed. Got A+'s on all the tests and recieved the awards for all of them and helped everyone except for the sparrow guy in the guild. Sold all items except for the stick, apprentice gear, and the bow. I needed the bow for the wasp queen. After defeating the queen and her wasp minions I sold the bow in Bowerstone South as well as the goodies from the picnic area. saved the game and stopped playing for the night.

I guess I am the only one who sees both the humor and difficulty of it. I'm sure there are views even if there are not posts, though.

Come now, are you overcome already? You with your mighty stick I know what you are atempting, the difficulty of it. Who cares about the others? They don't even begin to understand what you are doing. Where are you now?

You can't remember the Kraken? That thing was huge!

It's less Krakenesk then fairytales and stuff but in the game that's what it's called. When you escape from the prison with your mom and you go into the room with the pool of green ooze near the entrance you enter a bossfight with this huge octopuslikething called "The Kraken".

It attacks by smacking down with it's tentacles of justice. you're supposed to beat the tentacles silly when they hit the floor.... or play it safe and shoot them with a bow before he attacks. The tentacles themselves do a hefty amount of damage, and they have a fair bit of life as well. Usually Took me two hits from the Harbringer sword to kill em. So I'm guessing they have like 300 life each. And the stick only does 20 dmg, and there's four of them lol.

But what I'm really worried about is the Kraken's head. When you kill his tentacles his head kind of bobbles there and you're supposed to shoot it with yuor bow or with magic. Very rarely he leans in so you can hit him with a melee weapon. But not often. And he's got like.... 6000 hp. And he only stays floating around for about 10 seconds, then his tentacles respawn. so... I'm guess this battle will take roughly about 2 hours X.x

Edit: Long post is looooooooooooooooooooooooong :o

I will be keeping an eye on this thread as well. I remember playing Good and Bad on Fable: TLC and to go through with only apprentice robes and a stick...

Oh yes, definitely subscribed.

After defeating the queen and her wasp minions I sold the bow in Bowerstone South as well as the goodies from the picnic area. saved the game and stopped playing for the night.
Day 2: (1 hour and 20 minutes of gameplay)

I decided it would benifit my strength stats if I was to escort the trader to the Orchard farm. He died, a horrible gruesome death at the hands of three bandits. I made a um, "strategic retreat" back to bowerstone. Where I was greeted with cheers and praise, and jeers at my nickname of "chicken chaser". For a second I thought it might be entertaining to go through the game as "chicken chaser", these thoughts were easily destroyed when I saw a group of children laghing at me. Sabre it is...

After buying my new title I headed to the guild, snagged the Hobbe killing contest quest. Good god... Whisper continously beat me, with horrid scores like 14 to 1.... I went through this for about forty minutes. I finally got lucky. With some clever timing and a good eye, i manged to kill the hobbes that whisper had bruised. beating her 9 to 7. Those heavyily armored hobbes were tough. Took a nice chunk out of my life too.

I stayed the night at the inn. A day well spent. Sort of. I bought a fishing pole and a spade at the item merchant in town. With that I ran back to Orchard farm. I was tempted to do the "Get my necklace back" quest. But then again... I decided to fish for the silver key in the pond, and the one where the killing contest took place. I also debated to dig up the frying pan... It had no use to me so I decided against it.

I went back to town and showed off my whisper brooch. Earning me a bit of renown. After this I went back to the guild, to check what quests I could take. But with the "Unknown" renown status, I could only do the witchwood escort quest. Which was something I REALLY wasn't ready for. I decided to kill bandits and do some good deeds until I had enough renown for the hobbe cave.

I spent the last ten minutes getting combos off bandits and such. I returned to town after getting around 4000 strength exp. I did the random haircutting quest for kicks though. Got a mohawk, mutton chops, and a tiny mustache. I looked damn sexy. but I decided to shave and return to my normal haircut with goatee. Hair still looked good because I was only twenty eight. It's remarkable that I get grey hair in my thirties.

Well this is about the time i logged off, I'm doing fairly well for myself, My purse is heavy with gold coins and I have a good amount of fruits for healing. I managed to get my strength up a bit. I have physique of three, health of three and toughness of four. and a speed of three as well. well until next time, this is zero and his random stick and apprentice gear quest on Fable. Have a nice day and remember to tip your waitresses.

Whew, some of those later quests are going to be naaaaaaasty. Oh yes indeedy.

But I suppose if you really pump up those strength stats early on you will do quite well.

Hmm... I wonder how well you will do in the Arena later on... To be beaten by a stick as a gladiator would have to be incredibly insulting. But then again, just thinking about such an event reminds me of Chronicles of Riddick with Riddick and the teacup...

Re: The "Stick-and-not-much-else" Fable quest log

lol indeed xD

My plan for the arena is to hide in a corner, and let whisper kill everything, then I'll beat her and take my money lol That scorpion monster is gonna suck though. Hey wait, can I bring bandits into the arena? Becuase I can just tell like 40 or so of them to follow me and...

Nah, that won't work.... Or will it? o.o

I was wondering about the arena, and hobbes cave. Have you decided on what area you are going to focus on? Good? Evil?
