Thats not actually true, the links that winbeta give you from where to download it are is a place where you have got to pay to register to them and it costs.

I think the games are free. but you have to pay to register.

the download site, the site that you posted gives a link to a download share website and thats the one you have to pay to register so you can download the game/s

Thats the page im on about where it tells you how much it cost's to register.

the thing that worry me is:

Would this be adware? or spyware of some type?

I think it may have something to do with actual 'ads' in-game. I have read that companies were using billboards and such as places to put ads in actual games. It can be a bit distracting but it doesn't really make a difference.

I just went to install far cry and before it installs you have to enter your username and password which is the same when you sign up to ubisoft at www.ubi.com and i had to change my country to US to get past the username and password part.

But of cource its a free game i still have not been able to download far cry as their severs are bogged down

I downloaded far cry, I like the single player so far. About what I expected out of a 2004 game, graphics wise. You can't play multiplayer without a cd key.

I've only saw a few ads so far in the game. Most of the time I don't see any at all and never while I'm playing.

I have only see 1 ad and that was when i installed the game, i think its worth it. I didnt get a problem downloading it i was getting an average speed of 260Kb/s
