If you want to play the PS2 THROUGH the PC then you'll just need a basic TV tuner card.

I recently picked up a card from PixelView that has an RF tuner, composite input, and S-Video input. I can use the included software to tune television stations or use the other inputs. Media Player Classic (6.4) also lets me use the non-tuner inputs.

If just using the monitor is what you want you'll need to first make sure it's capable of "sync on green." Otherwise you'll need an external convertor box.

That'll work better than the USB one you found previously. I use something very similar and have found there's almost no lag in gaming with my system.

Meaning that I don't worry about being fast enough with hitting buttons or having to predict things. Recording and taking still shots WILL slow it down, though.

Take a trip over to www.codecguide.com and download the K-Lite Codec pack. When installing it'll allow you to choose the codecs that go into the system. I don't recall if the MPEG-2 demuxer is a default, but it's in the list.
