Guild Wars...is it really free?

Ok, call me behind in the times, but I just recently read on a Guild Wars box that it's free to play, just need to buy the game.

Is this true? I guess I just assumed games like that all made you pay so I never looked into it....

Also, anyone play it? Is it any good?

i played it but got bored cause none of my friends played it. its an awsome games if you have 4 friends into it ! i loved it the graphics and worlds are just toaly amazing and if u get it ill play too :p and ill get more friends into it again. and yes there is no monthly fee like in WoW.

The only negative i found about the game (wich isnt very very negative) is that once you leave town u can only be in a party of 8 if i remember correctly. (this is like diablo2 as each game can only have 8 players at once) wich keeps the gameplay going good

id say get it and let me kno and then well play :D

You pay for the game but online gameplay and updates are free. The world is HUEG and takes a very long time to get through. The story keeps flipping you from one feeling to another so it's needless to say that it's absorbing.

Yes, it's free to PLAY.

The expansions are actually games on their own that can be linked to previous and future installments. You can kinda jump in where you like and still get a full game out of what you chose.
