What was your very first game you ever bought?

What was your very first game you ever bought?

Mine was "FX Fighter". Got our first computer when I was in 7th grade, Intel 486 FTW! I convinced my dad to let me buy FX Fighter, which was $50USD, with my own money (no chump change for a 7th grader!). I got it home and started playing. I ruled that game in no time and my friends and I would always go head-to-head, but the controls were a little funky when two people played so it could get difficult.

Honorable Mention: "Dawn Patrol: Head-to-Head" WWI dog fight flight simulator. My dad and I put countless upon countless hours into that game! It was the best! He still wants me to try to get it to run on his "newer" computer, but I doubt it... I'll have to try it in dosbox.

hmmmmm a very good question i cant remember ... i think the first game i bought was wolfenstein3d on a shareware floppy while on vacation in 1995 in the netherlands. the othergames were all bought by my parents and after that the actually notable game that i bought was need for speed 3 and tony hawk underground 2 and that was in 1999 or somewhere around there. also in 1999 i got UT and Sudden Strike.

Actually we got the game I believe in '76 for Christmas. As for my age at the time, all I'll tell you is I was in middle school (It was Jr. High when I went).

so i was around right with my early 80's.

so taking 76 jr high depending on what grade would be tops 13 or 14 years old that leaves 30 * 10-14 = somewhere around there :p im guesstimating 41 let me kno if im any where close ^^

Monster Bash. Worked great on my 386 once we doubled the RAM to 4MB and I learned how to modify the emm386.exe line in autoexec.bat.

Sopwith. Had to turn the "Turbo" button off on the 386 as it messed with the timing of the game...which made everything unbelievably fast. Anyone remember sopwith? Hmmm... I guess that game was Freeware.... but it still rocked.

I thought we were talking about pc games. Since anything goes, I admit I had a Pong that you hooked up to the tv. Next was an Atari 2600 that I still have.

I can't remember the first game I played, but the first one I bought for myself was Albion. Fantastic RPG. I would rate it even higher than Morrowind, except it's now 10 years old. Here's a short review, if you're interested.
