Just a quickie to get you all thinking/misty eyed.....
What game do you think didnt do near as well as it should of (maybe because of gameplay style that wasnt widely accepted at the time) or had ambitions way ahead of its time graphically (I.E. it needed a system so powerful to run it, hardly anyone could afford to play it and even then the game could have used the later directx graphics) but still hold dearly to your heart? For me it had to be either Giants or System Shock 2. I know these were both fairly popular titles but in my eyes the developers of giants were being way hopeful with the system specs on the box (even on fairly reasonable rigs the gameplay had a tendency to get choppy) and with system shock 2 the control/playing/inventory system was way above the mainstream player of the time (who were used to simple point n shoot games like quake 2) and i know was seen as over fiddly by many. So thusly, most people were warned off them or got fed up half way through and traded them in despite the good reviews.I look forward to your answers, should be an interesting one.
