can my pc play HL2 and CS:S?

512 memory
1GB RAM
BFG Asylum fx 5200 256mb agp

Do you have 512Mb or 1Gb of RAM?
Having 512Mb will hurt performance even more.

Your CPU and RAM are up to scratch, you will be able to play the game but your Graphics card is what will really let you down. Expect to be playing on low settings at around 800x600, 1024x768 if you don't mind the odd bit of lag.

i think i have 1GB but thanks. i used to play the game with a geforce mx 420 64mb agp and was playing cs:s at like 30 fps but thanks for the reply

i have the same setup with the video card JUST with
512mb ram
1.3ghz amd processor
and well the geforce 5200

i get max around 60fps and minimum around 30 so u should be set.

It's amazing how well the game scales to lower-end systems, Valve did a great job.

yes and that is one of the greatest things of the whole source engine i believe, thats where battlefield2 and EA failed.

i played CSS on a pentium 3 550mhz geforce 2 ultra computer ofcourse in directx7 mode and everything turned down but still at 1024x786 and i was getting no less then 40 fps. i must say thats quite impressive and i fully agree with what u said above
