Hi. I'm not very good with this kind of thing and i was wondering, what are the differences between the 20GB and the 60GB PS3 and more importantly, what do these differences MEAN? I know that the 60GB one has more memory, but it also has a few other things like Wi-Fi (?). Please could someone explain them.
i.e. If i was to get the 20GB one, what would my mates with the 60GB one be bragging about? Thanks. |

The 60GB does not have more memory, it just has more hard drive space. Also it has wifi and SD card slots. I wouldn't laugh at you for springing for the 60GB model.
But if you want to save the money you won't be missing out on much. I personally would rather run an Ethernet cable than deal with wifi setup, and do you view pictures on your TV enough to need an SD slot? Both have HDMI.

not really. only thing I we'd use it for is playing games, watching movies, maybe some music.
Also, what would be stored on hard drive and i wouldnt know what on earth an SD card slot is... ![]() I gather WiFi is some kind of internet (?). Is it wireless or something? ![]() Oh and HDMI? Sorry, I dont know much about this, especially not acronyms.... Last edited by StormTroop; 12-09-2006 at 02:40 PM. |

wifi is wireless internet. If you have a wireless router (you plug they internet into it and it allows things with wifi receivers like the PS3 or a laptop with a wifi card in it) to pick up the signal and have internet wirelessly.
HDMI is a way to connect your HDTV to you device (the PS3 in this case) and get the best possible picture. Although you can get a picture just as good with connections such as composite and VGA HDMI is the only option that requires only one cable for audio and video whereas those fore options I mentioned require you to connect the audio independently. The hard drive (or HDD as it is abbreviated) will be used to save games onto eliminating the need for a memory card like you had with previous generations of consoles. Also you can store music, and download games & patches (for broken aspects of the system or games) on the HDD. But to get to the root of it, You'll be fine with the 20GB model
