Cooked Slim PS2....
Mine got zapped the other day by a surge and it actually crystallized the laser lens. Should I 1) pitch it or 2) attempt to repair it?

Is there really an easy way to tell if the board is fried?
I've had to open my PS2 up so many times its not even funny. Pulled that stupid silver cable out 6 or 7 times (the one that links the eject/power buttons to the mobo), that's a b*tch to get back in. Stupid laser anyway...
