Wanting to install 2 mmorpgs but not working?
So i'm trying to install these two games called Valkyrie Skies and Bright shadow.
However after i downloaded the set up, i double clicked it and only got an error saying "C:\Windows\system32\LZ32.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error." I've downloaded Malwarebyte and found only one corrupted file which wasnt the lz32.dll but something else; however i was scanning in safe mode and once the scan was complete i could not save the report due to a sudden restart. i have also done an system file check and these two set up still wont work only giving the same error. is there something wrong with this lz32.dll file? or is it something else? Edit: Ok just noticed this was in the wrong forum area xD""" a transfer will be nice, but also some help for my problem is also appreciated ^_^ Last edited by paprmastr232; 10-27-2009 at 09:56 PM. |

Re: Wanting to install 2 mmorpgs but not working?
The dll file LZ32 is responible for uncompressing compressed files like the ones in a setup.exe.
Its not the setup thats reporting LZ32.dll is corrupt but LZ32 is saying that one or more compressed files are corrupt in the setup.exe But i could be wrong. You could try downloading WinRAR or 7zip then run the installation again. I think one of these programs can will take over the job of LZ32.dll (Usually because they are better). If you still get the error then it means that the setup file that you have downloaded is corrupt and you will need to download it again.

Try disabling your anti-virus and then install the game again.

Re: Wanting to install 2 mmorpgs but not working?
This could be related to RAM errors. Download Memtest86+ (ISO verson) from my sig. You will require a blank CD and a burning program that can read ISO formats (Nearly all can). Burn it to a CD and keep it in your drive. Restart your PC and when prompted to press a key do so. This will test your RAM for errors.
The test works best if you remove all but 1 stick of RAM and test all of them on their own. The test takes aprox 30min per stick of RAM.

Re: Wanting to install 2 mmorpgs but not working?
It's quite more difficult to remove SODIMM so you may not be able to perform this test. If you don't know what you are doing then don't take the risk.

Re: Wanting to install 2 mmorpgs but not working?
With a laptop yeah it is difficult to remove RAM sticks unless it has a opening underneath of which you can take 4 screws out and see the slots.
Does your Laptop have Dual Channel RAM? This is what throws the test off, RAM sticks in dual channel mode. I highly doubt that your laptop does.
