Can anyone help with my activation

Hey to everyone!

I'm new, and I googled this forum to see if there was anyone who might be able to help, I hope there is.

So yesterday (9/22/2009) I purchased Empire Earth 2 Platinum from Direct2drive.com, it downloaded fine, and it extracted and installed fine.. here's the problem..

Every time I click the Icon to launch it, it asks for the activation (obviously) and it tells me I need to be connected to the internet in order to activate my product, okay.... I thought I was, I have wireless, but I guess it doesn't realize this.. I logged onto the Direct2Drive website and went to it's support page, I looked through the options, and common problems section, well.. I thought I had found the answer to my dilemma, Since I am using Windows 7, I figured I would follow the "If you have Windows Vista" section. It simply told me to turn off my Virus Protector and run the program as "Run as Administrator" by right clicking the link, so I did.. and I launched it again, and still it prompted me that I "wasn't" connected to the internet, and need to be if I want to activate my product.

Okay.. so at that point I was becoming a little annoyed and bummed at the possibility that I got jipped 20 bucks.. (I know, not a lot, but it's the whole situation that really gets to me) So.. I went back to the website, and I submitted a "request for support", I quickly got an automated response telling me to preform the tasks that I had already done (Turn of Virus, Run as Admin) and it still did nothing, just told me I'm still not connected.

So, I responded back to the email letting them know that It didn't work, I went back onto the website and looked around again, found another article, and followed the steps given.. which was to turn off any disc emulators that I might have running, well I do have one, so I turned it off, and still.. didn't help. So I am absolutely lost, and would be absolutely appreciative if there is anybody, anybody at all who might know how to get this going for me.. please!

Thanks a lot.

(oh, btw.. sorry for the long post)

ps.. the activation program that pops up is "trymedia" I think.

Re: Can anyone help with my activation

Hi and welcome to the forum ,
Is it possible to connect a cable from your modem/router to your computer.
This way the program may recognise your internet connection.
Thanks.

Re: Can anyone help with my activation

The main problem is, Windows 7 and the game are not compatible, you can try to run the game in compatibility mode for XP SP2 or even Windows 2000 or lower and see if that works.

Re: Can anyone help with my activation

Why don't you register it by telephone. There is option for that, isn't it?
