Problem when installing CoD4.
I posted this in the wrong section initially, so here goes.
I recently formatted my drive and reinstalled Vista Home Premium 32bit. I play competitive gaming, and as a result there's little on my PC other than steam with source and cs 1.6, itunes and firefox. However, when i've been trying to reinstall CoD4 the installation gets this error; ![]() I was wondering if anyone can give me any tips on how to go around this. Also, in what i think is an unrelated issue, I'm having a problem where if i leave my PC unattended for over an hour it seems to put itself into hibernation or turn its self off, but i'm not then able to turn it back on untill i unplug it from the mains, disconnect one of the ram modules and reconnect it. Then when i turn it on it gives you the 'resuming windows' screen; any thoughts? My specs are: 2GB OCZ ram Intel Quad core 2.4ghz 8800GTS 512MB Thanks. |

Re: Problem when installing CoD4.
I am not entirely sure how to fix the main problem you are having, but I can try to help you on the other problem.
Are you aware that usually you have to press the power button to return from hibernation? I am very worried as to why (and how you found out) you have to re-insert one stick of DIMM (RAM) and the power cord. This could indicate a dirty pin, ensure all your RAM is clear of dirt or dust, clean out your system of all dust. Download Memtest86 and take outone stick of RAM and run the program. Test the other stick after the test is done.
