i brought an xbox 360 yesterday (love it by the way) and after reading about the file sharing/streaming capabilities with my pc, i wanted in. after connectiong it to my computer through the provided ethernet cable i get the message "limited or no connectivity". I tried running the connection tests through the xbox with no luck, then i heard about (www.xbox.com/pcsetup) so i went there and downloaded the app for windows XP sp2 tried to install and it wouldnt go in, requiring .NET frameworks. So i picked that up from google, installed it and managed to get the setup app working, until of course it got to "verifying xbox" where it didn't find it. Now ive tried everything, i even tried using my own ethernet HUB and my own cables which i know should work, but still "limited or no connectivity" there seems nothing i haven't tried. And i would really like to know if anyone has had similar problems and fixed them, i would like specific help as im sure this may require entering IP adresses etc. And if you need any more information on the subject please ask. Thanks in advance

And you've tried contacting MS too hu? I don't personal have a 360 but you probably already talked with someone and it's seems to be just you with this issue hu?
Well if that's the case then you can try and exchange it. There is a device coming out that lets you swap files between your 360 HDD and computer HDD, but I don't know when it's being released and here is no guarantee it will work. You should still be under warranty, and if you're worried about your game files you could try swapping them to a memory card which will run you about $35 USD.

nah mate, its not a problem with my machine, there are thousands of people with the same issues, alot from various different problems, but all of these issues seem to be specific to the person. So thats why i asked for specific help, thanks for trying anyway, maybe i should ring microsoft tech support? does that cost anything? i live in UK so..i need specific help for that..

so you buy their products, something goes wrong, and they want you to pay them to help you fix it? microsoft suck. end of. So im not paying them when according to some forum posts they will refer you elsewhere anyway. Now im stuck, unless one of you guys knows how to sort these problems.

hm.. xbox didnt have a full os really, so i doubt it has all the complicated network management tools that a version of xp would.
i would say, be sure the cables you are using are ethernet cables for the hub, not crossover cables. -if that doesnt work -try an msconfic clean restart on the pc, and start the xbox without a game in it. to try to get the network to recognize without the compliucation of the game in it -you may want to try dumping the cache on the 360, usually corrupt hdd files can be harmfull for everything xbox.(this wont hurt your saves) -if all else fails -throw together a brand new crossover cable -connect the pc directly to the console -and set up a new network from within xp all else fails after that -1-800-4-my-xbox -or ebay the xbox |

thanks dude, yes im using patch cables, ad im surprised for 1 fact. I looked at the cable supplied with the box and..guess what? its a damn patch cable!! now why they dont just giv you a crossover with it is annoying. But i think ive figured this 1, my cheap router probably isnt relaying enuf info to the box for it to connect efficiently so im gonna try a crossover cable. My mate will lend me one sometime in the near future so i'll get back to you guys after i try that. cheers anyway
