Help with psp mp3 freeze

Ive had my psp for over a year now and untill this week it was working fine. Every time i go to listen to my music my psp freezes up and turns off. Ive tried formatting my memory stick twice and it still freezes up, I tried putting my brothers brand new memory card into my psp and it still freezes up but when I put my memory card into my brothers psp and it works fine. If anyone knows whats going on here plese help me out.

What firmware are you running on?

The newest firmware updates update the Music Player of the PSP, if you update, you could get your music playing ability back, but it means you could no longer play homebrew.
