I recently got a psp not an expert but I think I can help. I managed to update my fireware to 2.60.

What fireware do you currently have?

Do you have it connected to a wireless network?

I will look back later.

Scroll down to the bottom three links, each one tells you how to update, a quick way is to use the 'Update using a PC' method. Hope this solves your problem.
