My PS2 isnt working and i havnt modded

About 2 months ago i stopped playing PS2 and Xbox in order to concentrate on school so my ps2 has been basically collecting dust for 2 months at least. Now ive decided to play a game and when i turn it on and try to open the disc tray the little blue light starts flashing for a bit and the tray doesnt open. I know this problem is common after modding ps2's but i havnt modded it. If i open the tray manually and get a game in the Ps2 doesnt read the game either. Does anyone know how i can fix this without getting it repaired? and if it does need to be repaired how do i do this because i got it 2nd hand off my friend and have no warranty. Im a Canadian so if anyone lives in the GTA and knows a good person to repair ps2's please respond to me, and if you know how to fix the problem easily please dont hesitate to respond.
