Freezing games... Grrrrrr.

First off my X box 360 is past the warranty date. I can't even use the towel trick to force a RRoD cuz of that.

When I put a game in, (any game) I can play for about 5 minutes and then the screen will freeze on me. Sound turns off, screen is locked... can't even get my dashboard by hitting the X button on my controller.

I know that if I wanna fix it I gotta crack the case and fix it myself.

Its an original launch 360.

Anybody know what the problem is and how I can fix it?

Re: Freezing games... Grrrrrr.

Do you also get a RROD when it starts freezing? If so how many lights? Its probably a overheating issue, and i have to say that i'm suprised that your Xbox survived it this long.

Re: Freezing games... Grrrrrr.

It's never gotten a RRoD. One of my buddies told me it could possibly be a problem with my optical drive.
