Ps2 output through monitor

I've been trying to get my ps2 to work with an Acer monitor (P193W) through a VGA to RCA adapter cable, but the monitor will only display 'no signal'. Do I have to alter any settings on the ps2? Any help would be great, as I don't want to have to pay for a tv license to play my ps2...

Hello and welcome to TSF.

I don't think it's possible to connect it to a monitor. There are small attachable screens you can buy for the PS2, however.

The monitor would need to have something called "sync to green" to work with a PS2. Also, using a large monitor won't yield happy results as the PS2 runs most games at just 640x480. Few are even progressive.
