Connecting PS3 Slim to PC

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey Everyone,

I am debating wether I should get a PCI E Tv tuner card for my desktop or rather go get a lcd tv. Reason being is that I have a PS3 slim and I already have a 23inch 1080P LCd monitor but I don't want to get a tv. So I thought maybe I'll get a tv tuner card instead. My questions are: which one should I get, and do tv tuners have hdmi? Also would it be possible to hook up my pc speakers to the tv tuner card? How would it work? My roommate two years ago, hooked up his PS2 to his desktop via tv tuner card and got sound through his 5.1 pc speakers.

Thanks

I wouldn't do it because of the video lag. Virtually everything will be about .5sec behind.

Re: Connecting PS3 Slim to PC

What monitor do you have?

If it has the correct inputs, you can just use the monitor directly connected to both your PS3 and PC.

I have a Samsung SnycMaster 23inch 1080P LCD. It has a DVI connector. That's what I was thinking, get a hdmi to dvi cable, but what would I do for sound?

Re: Connecting PS3 Slim to PC

You would have to use external speakers connected using a different cable instead, in that case.
