xbox 360 samsung drive
I got a refurbished one cheap that reads all media just fine except xbox 360 games where it saying it's a dvd 90% of the time and I was wondering if a laser replacement would all be needed or would I need to replace the whole drive. It plays the game after many attempts to play it so it's obviously not a bad firmware flash otherwise it would fail 100% at the time.
Anyone know if it's possibly just an adjustment to the knobs configuring strength to the laser? |

Re: xbox 360 samsung drive
hi steve, adjusting the pots on the laser are your best bet, turn the drive upside down after taking out the board, adjust both pots to the right a full turn and then turn back to original position, sometime this is all it needs, put the unit back it 360 and drop on top cover to drive. see if it reads disk, if not start turning both post about an 1/8 of a turn to the right and recheck after ever turn. you will find the right adjustment. time consuming and a pain but will work.
