Need Help with issues on ftp files on xbox
Hi, I need help is solving an issue while trying to ftp files from computer to xbox 1 console. I have setup my PC and xbox 1 console as follows:
PC: IP address: 192.168.0.1 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: empty DNS: empty Xbox: IP address: 192.168.0.2 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1 DNS: empty FTP program used: Filezilla, Flashxp My xbox has a 1TB hdd which is modded by a seller with XBMC as its main interface, and it has other apps like evox, avalaunch and unleashx as bootable interfaces. My current issue when ftping is whenever say I transfer a file from the pc to the xbox, while transferring halfway, the ftp program cancels the file transfer or it also freezes up, and when I take a look on the xbox inteface (anyone of them), the screen just either freeze or go blank. However say if I instead transfer a file from the xbox to the pc (any file size),it would not crash. It is only when files from pc of any size were to crash after a while. I get an error message using the default ftp way(using windows explorer to browse the ftp website) which is "Make sure you have permission to put files on the server. Details: The connection with the server was reset". Btw, when I check my xbox hdd status in the evox interface, it says it is locked. Just wondering if this has anything to do with issues transferring. Could someone advised on what is the best solution I can do to transfer files besides using the default ftp solution which I am thinking to take out the xbox hdd and just slot it in a external hdd caddy to link up to windows to transfer file. I have not attempted this yet as would like to seek advice on this before proceeding and how to go about this. If this is not an option, please recommend an solution if possible to fix the issue I have with the ftping files from pc to xbox only. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Need Help with issues on ftp files on xbox
I used to have system using XBMC and I didn't use a ftp client at all. I put all the files I wanted to transfer into a shared folder and browsed my pc shared folder using the XBMC. Your IP settings are fine because you are able to transfer at least from the xbox to pc. I wanted to avoid cheap ftp programs and went straight to the folders. Hope this helps.
