DS lite R4 issues

Hi there guys

I've just got myself an R4 card and an 8gb micro sdhc slot 1 card. I have put the required files, as far as I know, onto the root of the micro sd card but the games or the menu are not loading up. All I am getting is a red sd card symbol on the top of the screen that says Menu, and ? outside the card. I can't use any of the keys to get to a menu. Please advise.

Sorry, but because the R4DS cards can be used for illegal purposes (ROM's), and we have no way of determining if your use of the card is legitimate or not, we cannot help with this.
