Xbox 360 HD
So I just bought a new HD tv, and didn't realize that my Xbox doesn't have an HDMI output. I'm just curious if there is a cheap way to get HD out of it, that doesn't require me to buy a new Xbox, or am I just SoL?

Re: Xbox 360 HD
I have an older 360 and use the component cables for 1080i.

Re: Xbox 360 HD
Not if you can just use the component cables. better to keep the continuity imo.

Re: Xbox 360 HD
I wouldn't buy a converter. If your TV can support 1080p, great. Just set the display to 1080p in the menu on the 360 and your component cables will do the trick. The HDMI is only slightly better anyhow, but by adding a converter you're likely to negate any increase in quality you'd see anyhow. Just my opinion.

Quote:
HDMI is a digital signal, and Component is analog (which is prone to interference, messing up your signal). Also, with Component, you have to convert between analog and digital, and the conversion is where you can lose quality as well. HDMI is digital the whole way. Component can display 1080p, but not as well as HDMI. This will also depend on exactly what setup you have going on. HDMI is the future, as we progress in technology, HDMI is only going to get better and better, and the gap between component and HDMI will increase. |
