stupid xbox 360

my xbox 360 when i start it up it starts to run the game but then says open try. so i have to tap it on the top a few times for it to start fully running how can i fix this without buying a new 360?

Hi, I don't really understand what you are saying. Are you saying when you insert any game it has a error saying "open try"??? Is that all it says or does it say more and how old is the xbox, could be a problem with it and maybe you can send it in the mail for a repair?

This is a problem with your DVD drive. Mine failed that way as well, and when it tries to read and can't, it will attempt to open the "tray".

At this point, you can either continue to abuse it by striking it, or you can repair/replace it, either yourself or with Microsoft.

Before my XBox went the way of RROD and repair i had to smack the tray to open it. After going in for repairs it's worked flawlessly. Some of the early trays were slightly defective so this may be your XBox's malady.
