help in recording ps3 games

Ok i am using an ASUS monitor (it has a vga,hdmi and a dvi port) my ps3 is connected in the hdmi (obviously) and the dvi is connected through my laptop(a dvi to hdmi) now is there a way that i can record my ps3 gameplay through my laptop....srry if i wasnt able to explain it clearly :(

From what I understand, it isn't possible unless you have a Video Card.
