wheres the 1080p?

ok so i recently purchased a sharp 42 inch lcd tv [lc-40e67u] model. I have my xbox 360 connected to the tv through hdmi, yet my tv (in the upper right corner) states that the image quality is 480p, and it is. My old tv automatically recognized quality cables for hd gaming. What can i do to increase the picture quality. I have scoured the sharp operation manual and have found nothing helpful...

and my rough guess is that youve set it up on the 360 to run it at 1080p?

Re: wheres the 1080p?

360 pretty sure doesnt have a "setting" or video output. I believe its constantly trying to produce the best image available

actually the 360 does have a resolution settings option.

System --> Console Settings --> Display --> HDTV settings.

change the resolution from there.
