Network problems after changing from pc to xbox
Hi all, if anyone can help much appreciated.
My current set up is that there are 2 PC's,one downstairs and new one in my room which i bought and my xbox 360. The downstairs PC has the router, a D-link 2.4 wireless router, which is the main one and my room has a D-link Dwl-810 to read from it for connections. Before I got my PC in my room my xbox 360 connectionhas no problem, but now I seem to have a bit of problem staying connected for first time. When I have been using my PC with xbox turned off, after surfing net, I turn PC off, disconnect cable in back of PC and put it into xbox, turn xbox on and everything works fine, then about 3-4 mins later I get disconnected from Xbox live, and the only way to re-connect is to powercycle the downstairs main router and then I can connect again. This also happens when its the other way round, after using the xbox first and then going to PC, same thing, have to powercycle to get connection to work again. Is there anyway around this problem, like I said before I got my PC in my room I had no problems connecting to xbox live but now I do,also the connection for both seems to drop after couple of hours of so and powercycle needs to be done again, its annoyingto having to keep going downstairs and powercycling, also the downstairs PC works fine and doesn't lose connection at all even when PC in my room/xbox does. |

Re: Network problems after changing from pc to xbox
I had a similar issue with a D-Link wireless router and dropped connections, hate to say it but the only solution for me was to replace the router.
Hopefully somebody can give you a better solution. |
