[SOLVED] PSP Freezes on PSP Logo (white screen) when opening a game. HELP PLEASE!!!
Hi to everyone!
I'm new here but I was told that the best people are here. I'm having problem with my PSP. It is a PSP Slim running in 4.01 system. I'm playing games thru memory card's CSO/ISO files. Unfortunately, one day it fell down from about 4 to 5 feet high table. It still works perfectly until the next day. It has these following problems: 1) When I open a game, it freezes to the PSP Logo (the white screen). So, in short, I can't play any games anymore. 2) When I put the PSP to sleep (toggle the small flat lever in the right bottom corner side of the unit once), the green LED light blinks fasts and about 5 seconds the unit turns off automatically (really off and not just on sleep mode). 3) When I go to the recovery menu, the following makes the unit freeze: 3.1) When I exit the recovery menu 3.2) When I format the Flash My PSP already went through 2 official fixes: 1) First, they formatted the memory stick and upgraded the system but it didn't worked. They tried to format the Flash and it freezes. So their conclusion is to replace the Flash IC. After replacing it, it worked for about 2 weeks and then returned to the same old problem. Within those 2 weeks the PSP was barely used and hasn't been bumped in any way, but then it just went back to it's old problem. Broke down for the second time. 2) Since it's broken again and, obviously, the problem is not the Flash IC, the board has been reheated to fix cold solders. It worked again ...for about 5 days. Again, the PSP has been carefully handled during this period but the problem still went back. Broke down for the third time. One night, after about 3 days when the unit last broke down, I went to remove 2 corner screws of the unit and blow the inside of the unit (by mouth). Then re-screwed the unit back. To my surprise, it is working again! I played with it for about 5 days again until one night, it returned back to it's old broken mode. Broke down for the fourth time. It still is until now. The patterns that I see before the unit returns to "broken mode" is when a game is prematurely exited or interrupted. Some examples: 1) Before it was broken for the third time, I was playing Tekken DR. I was using Kazuya and was beaten by Law. Due to my disappointment, while Law is beating me up, I immediately pressed "Home" and went back to PSP Main Menu. The next time I opened a game, it already freezes on PSP Logo. 2) Before the fourth time it broke down, my kid was playing RiStar in Sega Collection. While inside the game, he put the PSP to sleep. When I reopened the PSP, exited the Sega Collection and opened another game, it now freezes to PSP Logo. Until now. I came to this conclusion of patterns because the 3rd time the unit broke down, I was always careful to always exit to the game's main menu before going Home to PSP Main Menu. It was working perfectly until my kid played with it and put the unit to sleep while inside RiStar. Does anyone know what the problem might be. Any suggestion to fix it will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!! |

Re: PSP Freezes on PSP Logo (white screen) when opening a game. HELP PLEASE!!!
Hi, whelzkie. Welcome to TSF!
Unfortunately "I'm playing games thru memory card's CSO/ISO files" isn't allowed here. Piracy is illegal. I suggest you edit that before I help you any further. |

Actually, even if you edit the post, we are still aware of the pirated activity and will no longer help you. If you buy a game and run it from the disc and the problem persists, we will be glad to help you.

Re: PSP Freezes on PSP Logo (white screen) when opening a game. HELP PLEASE!!!
As has been mentioned above we cannot help with pirated games.
If, as 5NIPER has said, the problem still persists when using UMD's, feel free to PM me and explain and I will reopen this thread. Thread closed. |
