For ps3? I believe that all you need to do is just insert the drive (removing the old one) and just format the drive.

Re: ps3 hard drive

You can fit any size as long as the actual physical size of the drive will fit into the PS3, so in theory, you can get a Seagate 1.5 TB drive in there.

I am not sure the size of the drive, you would have to measure it yourself.

Re: ps3 hard drive

The Drive for a PS3 is 2.5". And the maximum capacity 2.5" drive is 500GB, at the moment. Upgrade is easy too. Just open up the bay and pull the old drive (Which is in a bay enclosure) out. Unscrew the 4 screws on the enclosure. Take the old drive out or the enclosure. And insert the new drive in the enclosure. Screw the screws in. pop the enclosure back in the PS3. When you boot the PS3 it will ask to format the drive. Then get a SATA to USB Adapter and transfer your files over. I think it will have a option in the XMB. I'm not sure where but there is an option to transfer the old drives continent to the new drive. Hope this info helps 1967cat.

Thank you for trying to help, but if you read, I already told him all that, the only thing he needs to know is the size of the hard drive of the PS3's bay.

And the largest size for a 2.5" drive is 750 GB

Re: ps3 hard drive

You can buy a 750 GB hard drive from most electronics retailers like Best Buy or FutureShop.

You can also get one here : http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...3291&CatId=139
