GBA SP LCD display help
As I did post earlier before, I'm having some "white" dotelike thing on my display (not dead pixel) and so I did use screwdriver to open it up.
But guess what, when I did open it i found out that display itself is covered by glass that is, in my opinion (here you come in to say if I am correct) glued to display ?? Anyway, that "white" thing is between LCD display and glass (the glass I could clean without even opening the thing in the first place.) So I would like to know is there any way to temoprarly remove that thing that so I can clean display itself? Here are the pictures: http://img6.imageshack.us/my.php?image=14417362.jpg http://img6.imageshack.us/my.php?image=28636246.jpg http://img6.imageshack.us/my.php?image=28726623.jpg http://img6.imageshack.us/my.php?image=84841705.jpg Thanks, If you need more explanation of problem or more pictures, please tell me so. |

Re: GBA SP LCD display help
Hi, ReiKo. Welcome to TSF.
You have a previous thread open by the name of " GBA LCD screen problem ", So there's no need to create a new thread. Just giving you a heads-up before the mods get to you. |

Re: GBA SP LCD display help
We're not that scary.
![]() ReiKo, the glass lens is attached to the LCD with some kind of double sided sticky material. From what I've read this rips extremely easily. You should be able to pry it off using a screwdriver or something similar. You'll need to be extremely careful though, as you may damage the LCD. Another thing to note, once the lens has been removed, the adhesive may not hold the lens on anymore and you may need to find an alternative way of holding it on. To be honest, it probably isn't worth the effort. |

Re: GBA SP LCD display help
No problem.
You may be able to put the glass back on, but like I said, the sticky material may have lost some of it's adhesive. If it has, you will need to figure out some way of making sure it stays on. I'm no expert on this so I don't know what kind of alternatives you can use. I do know you can buy replacement lenses online that already have 'glue' on them, all you have to do is swap them over. You never know though, you may find that the adhesive is quite strong and you may be able to simply clean the dust off then replace the glass. Never tried it myself so I can't really say. |

Re: [SOLVED] GBA SP LCD display help
Hey people, sorry to bother again but I don't want to mess forum up by posting another similar thread. Anyways :
I did sucssesfuly take out that lense. I did locate that "dot" that was bothering me and did clean it. But the problem is, every time i clean that LCD, more "dusty dots" come so I never get good results (more white dots). Any tips what should and how to clean LCD to make it fully clear? Thanks |

Re: GBA SP LCD display help
I'm going to go with the adhesive that is used by the glass is no longer uniformly fitting the LCD screen and has 'holes' or 'pockets' and cannot be solved by any other means then buying a new PSP.
